Scarlets 12 - 9 Ospreys, Llanelli

Replacement Josh Macleod scored the decisive try in the added minutes as Scarlets completed a 12-9 victory over Ospreys in their Pro 14 encounter in Llanelli on Tuesday.

The Welsh derby that kicked-off in rain-drenched Parc y Scarlets saw the home side pull out an incredible win despite a 36th-minute red card to Steff Evans that sees them at the top of Conference B while Ospreys are languishing at the bottom of Conference A.

Ospreys were forced into a change on 11 minutes when Dan Evans limped off to be replaced at full-back by Dan Biggar.

Halfpenny missed his third penalty in the 14th minute but the home side soon found their first points when Steff crossed over in the 17th minute and the fullback failed to add the conversion.

Ospreys finally got into the groove when Steff was red-carded in the 36th minute when he clattered into Ben John as he attempted to collect a Sam Davies cross-kick allowing Sam Davies to kick a penalty and reduce the trail to two points at half-time. John was forced to leave the field for a head injury assessment.

The second half was further dictated by the wind and rain, and, down to 14 men, Scarlets struggled to get going. They conceded penalties on 51 and 62 minutes, both kicked by Davies as the visitors increased their lead to 5-9.

The game looked all over for Scarlets but Macleod touched down in the corner following a cross-kick from Williams that was improved by Halfpenny to seal a 12-9 win.
