Scarlets 20 - 8 Benetton Treviso, Llanelli

Fly-half Dan Jones contributed with 15 points as Scarlets went on to register a 20-8 victory over Benetton Treviso in their Pro 14 encounter Llanelli on Friday.

Jones made full use of the opportunity in the absence of Rhys Patchell, who was on Wales duty. After slotting an early penalty in the fourth minute, Jones also went past the line eight minutes later and also added the extras to take Scarlets to 10-0.

Even though Benetton Treviso got off the mark with a 16th minute penalty by Ian McKinley but his efforts were negated by a three pointer from Jones as Scarlets retained their 10 point lead heading into the half time.

With the November Tests in place, both the teams were depleted of international players with Benetton missing 16 players who are in Italy squad while Scarlets were without eight internationals - although Scott Williams and Hadleigh Parkes were released by the WRU for the game.

McKinley further closened the gap to five points with a try after restart but a 67th minute touchdown from Williams and a conversion from Jones ensured Scarlets completed a 20-8 victory that saw them maintain their top position in Conference B.
