Ospreys flanker Harri Deaves has committed his future with the club by signing a new contract.

Deaves graduated from Ospreys academy and went on to make his club debut in the fourth round of the 2021/22 season of the Champions Cup.

The 22-year-old, who had featured for Wales Under 20 previously has played 25 games for the Welsh province.

"To sign a new contract with the club that has given me so much means the world to me," he told the club's official website.

"I'm excited about what we're building here and looking forward to achieving great things with this team.

“I’d also like to take this opportunity to thank my youth club, Pontyclun RFC, for everything they’ve contributed towards my development, my friends and family for their support, and the Ospreys Supporters Club for sponsoring me this season.”

Ospreys head coach Toby Booth is pleased with Deaves staying committed with the club.

“Deavesy is a promising talent who has a relentless competitive streak. He has the ability to influence games and a thirst for working hard.

"As he improves I am sure we will see his influence more and more. We’re happy that he sees his future here with us, and we believe he's going to be an integral part of our squad in the years to come.

“With this signing, we maintain our commitment to nurturing local talent and Deavesy’s progression from the academy to the first team is a shining example of our pathway success.”
