Ospreys have announced that prop Garyn Phillips has signed a new contract with the Welsh province.

Phillips was named in the Ospreys academy for the 2020/21 season after previously being part of Cardiff Academy. He made his debut for Ospreys in the 2020/21 season during the game against Zebre and has made 19 appearances since then.

The 22-year-old also represented Wales Under 20 side in the past.

“I’m really happy to continue my journey with the Ospreys," he told the club's official website.

"I’m grateful for the opportunity to further my career here, and work with some of the best coaches and most talented players in Wales. I'm excited about what we can achieve together.”

Ospreys head coach Toby Booth is pleased with Phillips remaining with the club.

"Garyn has come a long way since making his debut for us and he’s improving every day. Securing his talents for the coming years ensures that we continue to strengthen our front row with top-notch Welsh talent.

“He’s already played a strong amount of rugby for a front rower of his age, and that’s been crucial in his development. His work with Duncan Jones has really paid off and we all have seen the benefits.”

Ospreys are positioned seventh in the United Rugby Championship table with six wins from 10 matches.
