Australia have announced that Neal Hatley and David Rath will be joining the backroom staff of the Wallabies.

Hatley started his coaching career with London Irish youth academy and was associated with Bath Rugby as forwards coach in 2012.

He was part of Eddie Jones' coaching set up during the 2019 Rugby World Cup campaign with England and now will unite with the Australian in May following his commitments with Bath.

“I’m honoured to join Eddie and the Wallabies in what’s a massive year with the World Cup just over five months away,” he said in a statement released.

“While my focus is here with Bath at the moment, I know there’s plenty of potential within the playing group in Australia and I’m looking forward to maximising that when I begin the role.”

Meanwhile, Rath is appointed as learning coordinator. The highly experienced bio-mechanist and strategist will be leaving his role with St Kilda Football Club. He also had won four AFL Premierships with Hawthorn.

“It’s great to have Neal and David on board with the Wallabies,” Jones said.

“Neal’s a coach with a tremendous amount of experience and knows what’s required to be successful at international level.

“David has worked with the best coaches in the AFL and will bring a skill set that will help aid our learning environment.”
