Geoff Parling has joined Wallabies coach Joe Schmidt's backroom staff, marking the final addition to the backroom staff.

The former England lock, currently serving as forwards coach for the Melbourne Rebels, brings valuable experience to the table.

This move completes a streamlined coaching setup, which also includes seasoned figures like former All Blacks assistant Mike Cron, veteran Laurie Fisher, and Irish analyst Eoin Toolan.

Parling previously worked with the Wallabies under Dave Rennie in 2020, making this his second stint with the national team. His expertise and insights are expected to play a crucial role as the team prepares for the upcoming Tests against Wales in July.

"It's an honour to coach the Wallabies and to work alongside Joe and the coaching group he has put together," said Parling.

"The events on the horizon for the Wallabies and Australian rugby represent an incredible opportunity for everyone involved in the game."

Incoming Wallabies head coach Joe Schmidt had high praises for Parling as they look to build following a dismal performance in last year's Rugby World Cup.

"Geoff has spent more than 20 years playing and coaching in the professional game," said Schmidt.

"His understanding of the lineout, along with his Super Rugby knowledge and previous experience with the Wallabies will add value to our coaching group."
