Sharks 9-9 Rebels, Growthpoint Kings Park

Curwin Bosch and Reece Hodge kicked three penalties each for their respective teams as the Super Rugby encounter between Sharks and Rebels at Growthpoint Kings Park ended in a 9-9 draw.

Nic Stirzaker was sin-binned in the third minute following which Hodge kicked his first penalty four minutes later. Sharks were reduced to 14-men when Andre Esterhuizen was sent-off in the 17th minute for a dangerous tackle.

Bosch and Hodge exchanged penalties in the remainder of the first half at the end of which Rebels had a slender three point lead.

The infringements from Rebels continued in the second half as replacement James Hanson was sin-binned in the 57th minute while Stirzaker was sent off as well for his second yellow card offence in the 68th minute.

Bosch added two penalties to bring Sharks to a three point lead but Hodge ensured the game ended in a 9-9 draw following his third successful kick in the 80th minute.

Sharks are at second position in Africa 2 Conference while Rebels are languishing at the last position in the Australian Conference.
