Connacht 9 - 16 Munster, Galway

Munster extended their lead at the top of the Pro12 table after Rhys Marshall's 56th minute try guided Pro12 leaders to a 9-16 win in tough conditions at the Sportsground.

Munster fly-half Ian Keatley kicked 11 points including two first-half penalties as they led 6-3 at the half-time whistle.

Fly-half Jack Carty slotted Connacht's three penalties as they failed to capitalize on several other scoring opportunities.

With a five-metre lineout, Rhys Marshall dotted down on the 56th minute while Keatley added the conversion and a subsequent drop goal ensured their win.

With this performance Connacht have further dented their hopes to play Champions Cup rugby next season.

Pat Lam's side will now travel to Liberty Stadium to face the Ospreys while Munster will face Edinburgh at Myreside on coming Saturday.
