Exeter Chiefs have announced that full-back Frankie Nowell has been granted an early release from his contract.

The younger brother of former Chiefs player and England and British & Irish Lions star Jack Nowell, the 21-year-old graduated through the club academy before eventually joining the ranks here at Sandy Park ahead of the 2020/21 season.

He will now move to Australia to feature in the Australian Shute Shield competition which kicks-off in April.

“We are really pleased to help Frankie take on this exciting opportunity,” said Exeter Director of Rugby Rob Baxter to the club's official website.

“To play rugby in Australia will be a great experience for him and it will only help to develop Frankie’s rugby. We wish him the best.”

Exeter Chiefs are positioned fourth in the Gallagher Premiership table with eight wins from 13 matches.
