Scotland 22-23 Australia, Murrayfield
Scorecard

For a second match in succession, Australia sneaked from behind on Scotland to snatch a 22-23 victory in a game of high drama and emotions at the Murrayfield stadium on Saturday.

Scrum-half and skipper Greig Laidlaw kicked an early three-pointer on the second minute to open the scoring account for the hosts.

The Scots went on to score the first try of the match on the seventh minute when fly-half Finn Russell playing on the gain line timed his chip to outside-centre Huw Jones, who regathered and sped away to touch it down under the posts.

Laidlaw slotted the conversion to extend the lead further to 10 points.

Reece Hodge crossed over the try line on the 12th minute to register the first try for the visitors as the inside-centre sneaked off the back of a line-out on the 10 yard line.

Fly-half Bernard Foley slotted the conversion to reduce the deficit down to just three points.

A penalty opportunity on the 22nd minute allowed Foley to level the scoreboard. However, five minutes later, Jones crossed over for the second try of the afternoon following left-wing Tim Visser's break down the left.

Laidlaw added two more crucial points to Scotland's tally as the hosts took seven-point lead at the end of the first-half.

A minute into the second-half, Foley scored another three-pointer to convert another penalty opportunity.

On the 48th minute, the Scots were rewarded with a scrum out in front of the Wallabies posts. Fullback Stuart Hogg streaked off the back to find Richie Gray who touched down for a try.

Another of Foley's three-pointer on the 56th minute brought down the deficit to just six points.

Wallaby lock Will Skelton was sent to sin-bin on 68th minute for a shoulder charge, however, it did not stop the visitors from scoring the match-winning try on 74th minute.

Outside-centre Tevita Kuridrani sneaked past Peter Horne to score the crucial try with Foley adding the extras with the conversion.

The Wallabies will now travel to Stade de France to face France while Scotland will host the Pumas on Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh
