Scorecard

Alshaun Bock scored a double while Lionel Cronje contributed with 20 points as Kings pulled out an incredible 35-32 victory over Sharks in their Super Rugby clash at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on Saturday.

A second minute penalty from Cronje and a touchdown from Bock two minutes later gave Kings an early eight point lead. However, Sharks bounced back with a double penalty kick from Patrick Lambie while a try from Daniel du Preez helped Sharks race to 13 points.

Cronje once again swung the momentum towards the Kings as he kicked a drop goal and followed it with a converted try, aided by a sin bin to Sharks' Rhyno Smith to take the score to 18-16 in favour of hosts.

Kings further upped the ante in the second half with Bock strolling past the post for the second time, and Cronje was bang on with the conversion once again.

A sin-bin to Kings prop Ross Geldenhuys saw Sharks take advantage as Lwazi Mvovo danced past the post in the 58th minute. A triple penalty from Garth April and a conversion meant Sharks had a four point lead heading into the final five minutes.

This is when replacement Pieter-Steyn de Wet scored the decisive try to take Kings one point ahead while Cronje's conversion completed a three point thrilling victory for the hosts.
