Wasps 35-22 Gloucester Rugby, Ricoh Arena
Scorecard

Jimmy Gopperth amassed 25 points including hat-trick tries as Wasps went on to defeat Gloucester Rugby by 35-22 in their Aviva Premiership encounter at Ricoh Arena on Sunday.

Billy Twelvetrees scored the early penalty to get Gloucester off the mark but Wasps claimed the lead three minutes later after centre Jimmy Gopperth went past the post.

The game once again swung in visitors' favour after fly-half James Hook crossed over allowing Twelvetrees with the conversion but Gopperth had other plans as he totally dominated the first half with a converted try and a penalty at the stroke of half time by which Wasps had a lead of 15-10.

The scores were levelled at the start of the second half when Halaifonua Tonga scored Wasps' second try but wing Willie le Roux replied back few minutes later with a touchdown in the 46th minute and Gopperth restored the 10-point lead with a conversion followed by a penalty.

Centre Matt Scott raised Gloucester's hopes when he strolled past the post in the 70th minute and the gap came down to three points following a conversion from Twelvetrees but Gopperth and flanker Thomas Young scored a try each in the final 10 minutes to seal a bonus point victory for Dai Young's men.
