Wales have progressed to the fifth position in the World Rugby Rankings following their thrilling 20-22 win over South Africa in their recently concluded encounter in Washington DC last weekend.

The win has taken Warren Gatland's men to 84.45 rating points and in the process, they leapfrogged South Africa (82.77) and Scotland (83.83) to achieve their best ever ranking since February last year.

The rankings continued to be topped by the World Champions All Blacks and has Ireland, England and Australia at second, third and fourth positions respectively.

Wales will now take on 9th placed Argentina in two-Test series to be played in San Juan and Santa Fe on 9th and 16th June respectively.
