Scarlets wing Steff Evans will miss the upcoming two Tests for Wales against Argentina following a knee injury.

The 23-year-old sustained the blow during his team's 20-22 win over South Africa last weekend at RFK Stadium and now will miss the remainder of the summer tour for Warren Gatland's team.

The news was confirmed by a statement released by Welsh Rugby Union.

“Steff suffered a knee injury against the Springboks which precludes him from taking any further part in the summer tour," read the statement.

“He will return to Wales for further investigations to establish an accurate diagnosis and prognosis.”

Meanwhile, Worcester Warriors’ Josh Adams has been added to the squad as a replacement for Evans and Exeter Chiefs’ Tomas Francis has also been called up as a cover to Samson Lee, who is nursing back injury.

The two-game series will be played on 9th and 16th June in San Juan and Santa Fe respectively.
