Wales head coach Warren Gatland has revealed that veteran fly-half Dan Biggar will miss the upcoming Rugby World Cup game against Georgia following his latest injury setback.

The 33-year-old sustained the injury in the 8th minute in the game against Australia in Lyon last weekend and was seen playing with pain until the 12th minute when he left the field clutching his shoulder.

He was replaced by Gareth Anscombe, who kicked up 23 points coming with a man of the match performance to guide Wales to a 40-6 victory and a berth in the quarter-final of the tournament - fourth time they have achieved under Gatland.

Following the game, Gatland said Biggar will need at least two weeks of recovery period which will effectively rule him out of the encounter against Georgia at Stade de la Beaujoire on 7th October.

"Dan's stretched his pec, we are not too sure," Gatland said.

"I haven't spoken to the medics but I spoke to Dan and they are saying it is probably a couple of weeks.

"We have got 13 days' break before we take on Georgia so that potentially rules him out of that match, just to recover".
