Tonga have selected former Wallabies lock Adam Coleman for the upcoming Rugby World Cup warm-up games in July.

Coleman has already played 38 Tests for the Wallabies between 2016 and 2019 and was part of their squad in the 2019 Rugby World Cup played in Japan in which he went on to feature in four Tests.

With the World Rugby eligibility allowing players to switch nationalities after a three-year cooling period, Coleman now will link up with his former Australian team-mate Israel Folau at Tonga, who are grouped in Pool B along with Ireland, Scotland, South Africa and Romania.

Tonga coach Toutai Kefu said previously that Coleman is keen on representing the Pacific nation following the footsteps of his late father Pau'u Afeaki, who also captained them in the past.

"He's very keen to represent the Tongan side of his heritage and experience a World Cup again. It's a connection he feels strongly about," Kefu said earlier.

Tonga will lock horns with Fiji and Japan on 22nd and 30th July respectively before they head to France for the showpiece event.
