South Africa international Embrose Papier has inked a new contract with Bulls.

Papier joined Blue Bulls Academy in 2016 and was part of their extended training squad during the 2017 season.

His Super Rugby debut for the club came in 2018 but made a switch to Sale Sharks on a three-month loan deal during the 2019/20 season as a cover for Faf de Klerk during which he made five appearances for them.

The 24-year-old rejoined Bulls ahead of the 2020 Super Rugby season and now will remain with the Loftus Versfeld based club for the foreseeable future.

The 5ft 7in scrum-half played seven Tests for the Springboks - all of it coming in 2018 with his first and last appearance coming against Wales.

He also represented South Africa Under 20 team during the 2016 Junior World Championship.

Bulls currently hold the top place in Rainbow Cup SA with three wins from four games and will face Stormers next on 4th June.
