Bulls have reportedly signed England lock Charlie Ewels on a short-term deal according to a report from The Times.

The 27-year-old could make his debut for Blue Bulls in a Currie Cup clash against against the Sharks this Friday but will rejoin his club Bath Rugby in July.

Ewel, who has 30 England caps to his name, sustained a knee injury during the tour of Australia in June last year.

He will now link up with Bulls for the remainder of the season in order to gain match time and reclaim a spot in this year's Rugby World Cup squad.

Bulls are positioned seventh in the United Rugby Championship table with eight wins from 16 matches.
