Saracens have confirmed the signing of lock Chris van Zyl on a short-term contract.

The 32-year-old will head to the Allianz Park as a cover to Maro Itoje and George Kruis as they are on their international duty with England in the ongoing November series.

Van Zyl made his senior debut with Golden Lions and switched to Western Province in 2015. His Super Rugby debut with Stormers came in 2016 and went on to captain both the club and the province.

Saracens are currently at the second place in the Gallagher Premiership after winning all their six games and are yet to lose a game this season across all the competitions.
