Harlequins have confirmed the signing of Samoa wing Alofa Alofa ahead of the upcoming season.

The 25-year-old made his international debut against Fiji in Sacramento in 2014 and won three Test caps so far.

The former New South Wales Waratahs player started his career with the rugby league team Sydney Roosters before switching to rugby union in 2013 and now will leave Top14 team La Rochelle after a two-year stint to join the Quins.

Director of rugby at Harlequins John Kingston was impressed by Alofa's performances during the pre-season and believes the 6 ft 1 in wing can provide added flexibility to the club.

"I am really pleased to have secured the signing of Alofa. He is a dynamic and powerful player with the ability to break the line," Kingston said.

"His versatility in being able to play outside centre and wing is an added bonus and I have no doubt our supporters will enjoy watching him when he puts on the Harlequins shirt."

Harlequins will kick-off their upcoming season of Aviva Premiership against the newly promoted Bristol at Twickenham Stadium on 3rd September.
