Harlequins have announced contract extension for centre Winston Stanley and winger Charlie Walker ahead of the upcoming season.

Samoa international Stanley joined Harlequins in 2015 and appeared in five Aviva Premiership games for the club scoring a solitary try. His overall association with the club was reduced to eight games in the previous season because of an injury.

The Brisbane born 27-year-old has featured for the New Zealand U20 team in 2009 and is currently representing Samoa at the international level though his last appearance for the country came in November 2014.

Walker boasts of an impressive record after being part of England U20 Grand Slam winning team and reaching the finals of the Junior World Cup tournament. The 23-year-old joined Harlequins in 2011 and in the last five years, he has made 52 appearances for the club scoring 23 tries in it.

Director of rugby at Harlequins John Kingston expects the duo to play a major role in the upcoming season.

"These two talented and valued backs have major roles to play," Kingston said.

Harlequins, who finished seventh in the last season of the Aviva Premiership will begin the upcoming season with a home game against the newly promoted Bristol at Twickenham Stadium on 3rd September.
