Glasgow Warriors back-row Ryan Wilson will captain Scotland for the first time when they take on Georgia at BT Murrayfield Stadium on Friday.

The Dark Blues already registered a 10-44 win against the same opposition last weekend and will be aiming to maintain their momentum ahead of the World Cup campaign.

Head coach Gregor Townsend has made 12 changes to the starting line-up with Blair Kinghorn retained at fullback and Darcy Graham moved to left wing allowing Tommy Seymour to make a comeback at right wing.

Sam Johnson will have a new centre partnership with Duncan Taylor with Adam Hastings at fly-half and Ali Price at scrum-half. A new back-row partnership will see Wilson teaming up with Jamie Ritchie and number eight Blade Thomson with Jonny Gray and Scott Cummings in second-row.

“We’ve been together since the middle of June and Friday night is our final chance this year to play in front of our supporters," said Townsend.

“It’s another opportunity for players to get valuable game time and build on what was a very good performance last weekend in Georgia. We are very aware that Georgia will be much improved after their first hit out of the season and they will know much more about how we play.

“We expect a very tough challenge and it will require an improved performance from our men to deliver a winning outcome.”
