Wales 31-5 Ireland, Cardiff Arms Park

Wales have kick-started their TikTok Six Nations campaign with a convincing 31-5 victory over Ireland at Cardiff Arms Park on Saturday.

It took Wales just three minutes to get their opening try as Alex Callender touched down following a line out throw that came after they won a penalty goal with Sadhbh McGrath infringing.

Despite losing Gwen Crabb to injury, Wales extended their lead as Keira Bevan crashed under the posts after good work from the forwards. The scrum-half also kicked the conversion making it 12-0.

It was all one way traffic as Sioned Harries finished off after another lineout drive and with Bevan following it with the conversion the scoreline became 19-0.

The bonus point came around the half-hour mark as captain Hannah Jones also going over the line following a brilliant break from Kerin Lake. Bevan was once again spot on with the conversion as Wales completed the opening half with 26 unanswered points.

Ireland's problems compounded as Deirbhile Nic a Bhaird was sin-binned for a deliberate knock on and Wales capitalised on the numerical advantage as Sisilia Tuipulotu powered her way through to make it 31-0.

Ireland were desperate for their opening points but a stern defence from Wales kept them scoreless until the 66th minute when skipper Nichola Fryday dived over for a consolation try as Wales completed a 26-point victory.

Wales will head to The Dam Health Stadium in the second round where they lock horns with Scotland while Ireland will host France with both the matches scheduled on 1st April.
