A dominant first half position from Leicester Tigers saw them complete a 34-9 bonus point victory over Gloucester Rugby in their Aviva Premiership clash at Welford Road on Saturday.

The win has taken Tigers to fifth position in the table while Gloucester occupy the ninth position.

Number eight Luke Hamilton scored the opening try for Leicester Tigers in the third minute which was followed by a conversion from Freddie Burns. Both Billy Burns and Freddie exchanged penalties as the lead remained intact in the first quarter.

However, the home team switched gears and were awarded a penalty in the 24th minute while Owen Williams contributed with a conversion and a drop goal to take Leicester Tigers to 20-3 lead at the end of first half.

Billy made a brief comeback scoring two penalties in the second half but two more tries - one each from Adam Thompstone and Maxime Mermoz ensured Leicester Tigers completed a 25-point victory.

Widely regarded as the most competitive rugby union league in the world...it can only be the Gallagher Premiership.
