Australia have lost the services of centre Lalakai Foketi for the remainder of the spring tour following a shin injury.

The 27-year-old was forced off the field in the 25th minute during Australia's game against France in Paris after scoring a spectacular opening try for his side and was replaced by Hunter Paisami.

Foketi will be heading back to Australia to undergo rehabilitation with an aim to be fit be for the new Super Rugby season for Waratahs.

His absence mean, the Wallabies are left with Paisami and Len Ikitau for centre options with Andrew Kellaway, Reece Hodge and Jordan Petaia also in contention.

Australia head coach Dave Rennie admitted that the absence of Foketi has left a hole in their midfield options and they are considering to bring a replacement.

“We’re a bit thin from a midfield point of view,” Rennie told the Herald.

“We’ll look to bring someone in.”

Australia will be facing Italy, Ireland and Wales in their remainder of the November Tests on 12th, 20th and 26th respectively.
