Gabrielle Vernier named Women's Six Nations player of championship

France centre Gabrielle Vernier has been named TikTik Women’s Six Nations player of the Championship.

The 25-year-old went on to beat England's Marlie Packer and Holly Aitchison and Wales' Sisilia Tuipulotu to win the award.

Vernier was a key member of the French squad that went on to finish second in the Championship scoring five tries and providing two assists.

"I would like to congratulate all the other players named on the shortlist, and there are many more names that could have been added," Vernier said.

Meanwhile, England dominated the team of the tournament with nine players featuring in the list including the leading try scorer Packer and Marlie Packer and Holly Aitchison.
