Saracens have announced the signing of Francois Hougaard on a short-term three-month deal.

Hougaard has made over 100 appearances in the Premiership having played for Worcester Warriors and Wasps between 2016 and 2022. He also had represented South Africa clubs Bulls and Southern Kings in the past.

The 34-year-old made his South Africa debut in 2009 and has 44 caps including five appearances in the 2011 World Cup.

“I am really excited about the opportunity to join Saracens," he told the club's official website.

"They are a great club with many fantastic players and I look forward to helping them build on their success over the years.”

Saracens director of rugby Mark McCall is pleased to have acquired the services of Hougaard.

“Francois is a player with great experience and we are excited to see the impact he can make with us over the coming months.”

Saracens are currently at the top of the Gallagher Premiership table with nine wins from as many games.
