Leinster Rugby 28 - 15 Newport Gwent Dragons

A clinical first half performance from Leinster helped them register a 28-15 victory over Newport Gwent Dragons in their Pro 12 encounter on Saturday.

The home side completely dominated the first 15 minutes where prop Peter Dooley (11') and lock Ross Molony (13') strolled across the post while wing Isa Nacewa added conversions on both the occasion to take a 14-point lead.

Number eight Jack Conan capped off the first half when he crossed over in the 30th minute after fly-half Angus O'Brien scored the first point for Dragons with a penalty.

Ireland international Joey Carbery continued the momentum into the second half when he crossed over in the 41st minute and Nacewa's conversion took them to a 28-3 lead.

Even though wing Pat Howard and replacement Sarel Pretorius struck back with two tries in the 54th and the 69th minute, the Dragons let the game drift too much in the first half which lead to a 13-point defeat.

Leinster now have levelled Munster with 37 points but are placed second based on point difference while Newport Gwent Dragons are positioned ninth. This was also Newport Gwent Dragons' fifth consecutive away defeat this season.
