England international Elliot Daly has been handed a three-week ban by the Autumn International Disciplinary panel following his red card sanction in the game against Argentina last weekend at Twickenham.

The 24-year-old was sent off in the fifth minute of the game for tackling Leonardo Senatore leaving England one-man down for the remaining 75 minutes. However, despite the hurdle, Eddie Jones' men went on to win the game by 27-14.

The statement read that Daly's act attracted a six-week suspension, but considering his admission of wrongdoing and good track record, the punishment was reduced to three weeks.

"The disciplinary committee found that Mr Daly had acted recklessly and that the offending merited a mid-range entry point based on World Rugby's scale of seriousness, which carries a six-week playing suspension," read a statement from Autumn International Disciplinary.

"The disciplinary committee further found that there were no aggravating factors and that there were a number of mitigating factors (including Mr Daly's acknowledgement of wrongdoing, expression of remorse to the injured player and his good conduct at the hearing) such that his playing suspension be reduced by three weeks.

"Mr Daly is therefore suspended from playing rugby for a total of three weeks, up to and including Sunday 18 December 2016."

Daly will now miss England's final autumn international fixture against Australia and also Wasps' double header against Connacht in the European Champions Cup.
