Blues came up with an eight try performance at Eden Park on Friday to win the Super Rugby encounter against Cheetahs by 50-32.

Reiko Ioane (10'), Scott Scrafton (17'), Akira Ioane (22') and Patrick Tuipulotu (33') were the try scorers for Blues in the first half with Piers Francis adding conversions on two occasions to take them to 24 points.

Francois Venter (7') and Torsten van Jaarsveld (13') led Cheetahs' response with touchdowns while Fred Zeilinga kicked a conversion and two penalties at the stroke of half time during which the visitors trailed by 24-18.

The onslaught from Blues continued in the second half with Steven Luatua (46'), Augustine Pulu (50') along with fullback Melani Nanai Vai (67') while Reiko strolled past the post for the second time as the hosts touched 50 points in the game.

Despite, best efforts from Elandre Huggett (56' and 76'), who scored double in the second half, Cheetahs went on to lose the game by 18 points.

This is Blues third consecutive win this season but they still continue to languish at the bottom of New Zealand Conference while Cheetahs are positioned third in Africa 1 Conference table.
