Lionel Cronje scored the decisive penalty in the final minute as Kings managed to edge out Bulls by 30-31 in their Super Rugby clash at Loftus Versfeld on Saturday.

Cronje and Tiaan Schoeman exchanged penalties in the first five minutes and Makazole Mapimpi crossed over in the 10th minute to take the visitors to a seven point lead. Bulls lost Jason Jenkins temporarily in the 21st minute when he was sin-binned and Cronje further extended Kings' advantage with a converted try.

Fullback Malcolm Jaer stretched Kings' lead to 19 points which was reduced to 12 points at half time after Jenkins, who returned back from sin-bin strolled past the post.

Bulls showed more intent at the start of the second half after Duncan Mathews danced past the post while Schoeman added the extras and kicked two more penalties to bring down the gap to two points.

Despite, a yellow card to Lubabalo Mtyanda, Cronje kicked a drop goal and a penalty to take Kings to 23-28 lead but Jaco Visagie's try in the 76th minute followed by a conversion from Schoeman took Bulls to a three point lead before Cronje kicked the decisive final minute penalty to seal a one point win for the visitors.
