Kings survived a late scare from Waratahs as they came from behind to win their Super Rugby encounter 24-26 at Allianz Stadium on Friday.

Taqele Naiyaravoro (12'), Rob Horne (23') and Cameron Clark (33') crossed over for Waratahs in the first half with Bernard Foley adding a conversion on one occasion to make it 17-0 for the home side.

A 32nd minute sin-bin to Ned Hanigan was capitalised by Kings as Justin Forwood replied back with a try of his own to reduce the gap to 10 points at half time.

Kings showed more intent in the second half with a try from Masixole Banda and despite a yellow card to Chris Cloete they scored another try through Michael Willemse. The onslaught continued from the visitors as they were awarded a penalty try in the 76th minute to help them take a nine point lead.

Just as the game was heading for a finish, Naiyaravoro scored his second try in the closing stage and despite a conversion from Foley, they lost the encounter by two points.

Despite, the win, Kings continue to remain at bottom in Africa 2 Conference while Waratahs are placed fourth in Australian Conference.
