Ulster hooker Rob Herring has been ruled out of the upcoming United Rugby Championship game against Connacht.

The 33-year-old sustained the injury during the second round of the Investec Champions Cup game against Racing 92.

The province will also be sweating on the fitness of Billy Burns, who is sidelined by an arm injury while Luke Marshall also injured his ankle during a training session.

Meanwhile, Sean Reffell, who is recovering from a long-term ankle injury has returned to full training.

Ulster are at seventh place in the United Rugby Championship table with four wins from seven matches.

They also have a win and a defeat apiece in the two matches of the Investec Champions Cup and are positioned third in Pool 2.
