Benetton Treviso stood firm to beat Zebre 17-15 as the Guinness Pro12's bottom two sides produced a good contest at the Stadio Comunale di Monigo.

Treviso carried a 10-3 lead into the final 15 minutes thanks to a converted Michele Campagnaro try and a penalty from Jayden Hayward before both sides created a frenetic finale.

Up until that point, Zebre had only a first half penalty from Edward Padovani to show for their efforts, but they burst into life as lock Quintin Geldenhuys touched down, although the conversion was missed.

Edoardo Gori struck back for the hosts and Hayward added the extras to effectively seal the win, as a converted Brendon Leonard try at the death for Zebre came too little, too late.

The win puts Treviso ahead of Zebre in the table, although the latter did at least pick up a bonus point.
