Stade Rochelais skipper Gregory Alldritt is set to miss the start of the upcoming Investec Champions Cup following a knee problem.

Alldritt, who was named the 2023 EPCR Player of the Year is taking treatment for osteoarthritis in his right knee and will now be out of action until January.

Having been part of Stade Rochelais back to back title wins in the Champions Cup, he will now miss the tournament's opening games against Leinster on 10th December and DHL Stormers on 16th December.

“The idea is to regenerate myself physically. I have osteoarthritis in my right knee," Alldritt told L’Equipe.

"It’s nothing too serious. I will heal it and strengthen the muscles around it. When you’re playing every weekend, though, it’s impossible.”

The French international denied reports that he was suffering from burnout, labelling them “false”. “I was shocked that we were talking about this when it is a very serious subject,” he added.
