Worcester Warriors have confirmed the signing of South Africa international Francois Venter for the 2018/19 season.

The 26-year-old made his professional rugby debut with Blue Bulls in 2010 and went on to represent their Super Rugby side two years later.

He made a switch to Cheetahs in 2014 and will now head to Sixways along with the Bloemfontein based outfit's head coach Rory Duncan at the end of the ongoing Super Rugby season with the latter set to take over from Carl Hogg.

"Rory Duncan has been a great coach for us at the Cheetahs," he said.

"Having the opportunity to continue to work alongside him and (director of rugby) Alan Solomons, is something I'm looking forward to."

This also Worcester's eighth signing for the next season having already secured the services of Jono Lance, Scott Van Breda, Ashley Beck, Cornell du Preez, Callum Black, Michael Heaney and Isaac Miller.

Worcester Warriors are currently positioned 11th in the ongoing season of Aviva Premiership with five wins from 16 games.
