Jim O’Toole's headed Atlas Group consortium have successfully completed the takeover of former Premiership club Worcester Warriors.

Administrators Begbies Traynor confirmed the news of the takeover on Wednesday.

The club entered into administration in September last year following which O’Toole's led consortium agreed to buy the club in February.

“Atlas WWRFC are delighted to confirm they have completed on the transaction with the administrators and now look forward to delivering their vision for rugby, the business and the wider community at Sixways," read a statement.

“Atlas thank Begbies Traynor and their advisors for their collaborative approach, alongside the Warriors fans and wider rugby community for their patience and support … special thanks and recognition must also go to the staff at Sixways who have kept the venue management operation going successfully.”

Following the announcement, the Rugby Football Union also announced that Wasps have applied to play next season's Championship home games at Sixways with a similar deal agreed with Worcester Raiders and Warriors Women.

“We’ve concluded the transaction, and have taken control of the rugby club,” O’Toole said.
