South Africa have released a total of 10 players from their Rugby Championship squad that made a return from New Zealand following their 34-36 win over All Blacks in Wellington.

Out of the 10 players eight will feature for their provincial side in the Currie Cup competition this weekend while Willie Le Roux and Francois Louw will be part of their Gallagher Premiership clubs.

Ross Cronje (Golden Lions), Marco van Staden and Embrose Papier (Blue Bulls), Thomas du Toit (Cell C Sharks) along with Wilco Louw, Bongi Mbonambi, Sikhumbuzo Notshe and Damian Willemse (DHL Western Province) have all been released from the national squad.

Meanwhile, Le Roux had signed a deal with Premiership club Wasps that he will return back to the Ricoh Arena outfit for the remainder of the year after playing three Rugby Championship games that ended with Springboks' 34-36 win over All Blacks last weekend.

Louw will return to Bath Rugby as they are set to host Northampton Saints at Recreation Ground on 22nd September.

South Africa will take on Australia in the fifth round of the Rugby Championship in Port Elizabeth on 29th September.
