Gloucester Rugby have announced that centre Seb Atkinson has signed a contract extension with the Gallagher Premiership club.

The 20-year-old joined the Cherry and Whites in October last year with his debut coming against Bristol in the Premiership Rugby Cup.

He has overall made 12 appearances for the club and has become a key component of their midfield combination this season.

“Seb came in mid-season and we’ve been really impressed by his drive and ambition to develop his game," said Gloucester head coach George Skivington.

"He’s grasped the opportunities in front of him to play regular senior rugby and that’s credit to how he’s immersed himself into the environment since arriving.

“He’s a mature young man with a big future ahead of him. He’s still only 20, so he’s an exciting prospect for us and we’re looking forward to seeing him develop further in a Cherry & White shirt.”

Gloucester are positioned ninth in the Gallagher Premiership table with seven wins from 17 matches.
