Gloucester Rugby have announced the signing of centre Max Llewellyn ahead of the 2023/24 season.

Llewellyn, a product of Cardiff Academy, made his senior debut with the club in 2017 and has gone on to play 38 times for the club scoring five tries.

He also featured for Wales Under 20 side 14 times between 2018 and 2019 and will add to Gloucester's midfield options. His father Gareth Llewellyn played for Wales in 92 Test matches.

“I’m really excited to be coming to Gloucester” Llewellyn told the club's official website.

“It’s always been an ambition of mine to play in the Premiership and to do that for a club like Gloucester, it’s something I’m really looking forward to.

“I was fortunate enough to play at Kingsholm in pre-season and the atmosphere there was amazing; it’s somewhere you look forward to playing every week.”

Gloucester are positioned ninth in the Gallagher Premiership table with seven wins from 16 matches.
