Rugby Rumours: Arscott switches codes, Tawera to Toulon, Wilkinson's return and Giteau in Japan

Arscott switches codes:

After Tom Arscott's sacking from Sale Sharks earlier in the month it seems he's wasted no time in finding another club, albeit a Rugby League side.

He's set to join Salford City Red in the SuperLeague, who share the same ground as his previous club, which could result in plenty of awkward moments at the AJ Bell.

Tawera to Toulon:

The news of Aaron Smith's move to Montpellier Hérault Rugby would have been a little bit of a blow for Mourad Boudjellal and his red army.

Keen to get a Kiwi in the side, Toulon are reportedly after Tawera Kerr from Super Rugby's Chiefs.

Wilkinson's return:

This admittedly is more of a pipe-dream then anything else but here's the low-down nonetheless...

Jonny Wilkinson has been approached by Top 14 side Lyon to come out of retirement. A sum close to sevens figures, which reportedly still wouldn't get him playing again.

Giteau in Japan:

Matt Giteau is set to leave Toulon at the end of the season for pastures new in the Japanese top league. With only the top few sides affording a player of his quality.

Panasonic Wild Knights (David Pocock) and Suntory Sungoliath (George Smith) are both likely options... potential to catch up with a few old friends while he's there too!
