Wales and Ospreys centre Scott Williams is set to be sidelined for an extended period following his latest injury setback.

The 30-year-old sustained a shoulder injury in the first half of the recently concluded game against Cardiff Blues and was replaced by Tiaan Thomas-Wheeler.

Ospreys head coach Toby Booth admitted that Williams was in 'considerable pain' following the injury.

"It looked pretty bad that one," said Booth to BBC Sport Wales.

"He was in a considerable amount of pain and received some significant amount of medical attention.

"We will know more when it settles but it does not look great."

The 6ft centre joined Ospreys in 2018 after spending nine seasons with Scarlets and has played 58 Tests for Wales between 2011 and 2019. He also represented Wales in 2011 and 2015 World Cups.

Ospreys are positioned third in Conference A with four wins from nine games and will take on Dragons in the 9th round at Rodney Parade on 9th January.
