The final round of the Rugby Championship saw the teams retain their respective positions in the World Rugby Rankings.

However, both New Zealand and Australia have improved their rating points after their hard-fought wins against South Africa and Argentina respectively.

The All Blacks were trailing by 30-13 at the end of the third quarter against the Boks in Pretoria but late efforts from Scott Barrett and Ardie Savea along with double conversions from Richie Mo'unga in the final five minutes saw Steve Hansen's side pull out a stunning 30-32 victory.

The win also meant New Zealand have gained 0.4 rating points that has increased their gap over second placed Ireland by 2.84 points.

The second game of the final round saw Australia make a stunning comeback after being 31-7 down as they went on to win the game in Salta by 34-45.

Despite their heroics, Wallabies continue to remain seventh in the table after a dismal 2018 that saw them win just four out of the nine games but the gap over eighth placed France is now more than a point while Argentina remain at ninth with 78.01 rating points.
