Australia will miss the services of winger Jack Maddocks in the final round clash of the ongoing Rugby Championship against Argentina in Salta following a hand injury.

The 21-year-old already had a finger injury during training in Port Elizabeth which further compounded during his 27 minute play in the game against South Africa after he came off the bench in the 32nd minute.

Maddocks has flown back to Sydney for rehabilitation but is expected to be fit for the third Bledisloe Cup fixture against New Zealand in Japan.

The Wallabies have not yet named a replacement for Maddocks and might use either Tom Banks or Sefa Naivalu for the game next weekend.

Earlier, just before the game against Springboks last Saturday, Australia also lost Tatafu Polota-Nau to hamstring injury with hooker Tolu Latu has been slotted to join the squad after featuring in the National Rugby Championship in Fiji recently.

Australia are currently languishing at the bottom of the Rugby Championship table with a solitary win from five games and need to beat Argentina to finish third in the tournament with New Zealand and South Africa already sealing the top two places.
