Newcastle Falcons 16 - 15 Bath Rugby

A late try from Zach Kibirige followed by a conversion from Craig Willis allowed Newcastle Falcons to secure a thrilling 16-15 win over Bath in the Anglo-Welsh encounter at Kingston Park on Saturday.

After the first 30 minutes went without a point, fly-half Adam Hastings opened Bath account with a penalty but the scores were levelled at half-time after his counterpart Willis responded with a penalty of his own in the added minutes.

Willis extended Falcons' advantage in the second half with another penalty in the 44th minute but wing Jack Wilson brought Bath back into the lead when he crossed over in the 49th minute but Hastings missed out on the conversion.

A third penalty from Newcastle Falcons through Willis got them to an one-point lead but once again the momentum shifted to Todd Blackadder's men as replacement Will Homer strolled past the post in the 64th minute while Hastings' conversion meant Bath had a lead of six points heading into the final 10 minutes.

However, Falcons ensured no slip up this time as Kibirige scored the decisive try in the 74th minute to bring down the trail to one point and then Willis held his nerve with the conversion to take his team to a thrilling one-point victory.
