Connacht have confirmed that former Ireland Under 20 international Stephen Fitzgerald will join the Pro14 club on a three-month loan contract from rivals Munster.

Stephen will join his brother Conor Fitzgerald at the Sportsground and is the third player to be signed by Connacht on short-term deal in the last one week after Tom Daly and Angus Lloyd.

The 23-year-old joined Munster in 2015 and in February he signed a one-year development contract extension with the club. He has made seven Munster senior appearances but did not feature for the first team this term with his move to Connacht will help him gain valuable experience.

Connacht confirmed the news on Stephen on their official Twitter handle.

Connacht currently are at fourth place in Conference A table with six wins from 11 games and will face Ulster Rugby at Sportsground next in Round 12 clash on 29th December.
