Wales have received a much-needed boost ahead of their Six Nations campaign with Liam Williams returning from injury.

The news will be a big boost for the newly reappointed head coach Warren Gatland with the Six Nations kicking off next month.

Williams, who has played 81 times for Wales has been on the sidelines since September due to a shoulder injury.

Nevertheless, he is expected to return to action for Cardiff's upcoming United Rugby Championship game against Ospreys on Sunday.

"It's great to welcome Liam Williams back, who along with our other senior players brings so much experience, drive and energy." said Cardiff director of rugby Dai Young.

Williams has been an integral part of Wales set up having featured for them in the 2015 and 2019 World Cups and made his Test debut under Gatland in 2012. He was also part of the British and Irish Lions during the 2017 and 2021 tours of New Zealand and South Africa respectively.

Wales will kick-start their Six Nations campaign with a clash against Ireland at Principality Stadium on 4th February.
