Southern Kings 10 - 31 Leinster, Port Elizabeth

Leinster came up with a dominant second half performance as they completed a 10-31 bonus point victory over Southern Kings in the first ever Pro 14 game held in South Africa.

The visitors headed into the game in Port Elizabeth without Isa Nacewa and Jamison Gibson-Park due to visa related issues but it did not hamper them as they amassed five tries with four out of it coming in the second half.

Fullback Masixole Banda got Kings off the mark with a third minute penalty but Leinster bounced back with a touchdown from Noel Reid, five minutes later and fly-half Ross Byrne slotted the conversion as they ended the first half with a four point lead.

Kings could not keep up with their tempo in the second half but Leinster scored three tries in the third quarter that came through
Rory O'Loughlin (42'), Jack Conan (47') and Joey Carbery (51') as they stretched their lead to 3-26 and also secured a bonus point.

Winger Dave Kearney further increased the lead to 28 points with a touchdown in the 71st minute. Cheetahs did score their first try of the game that came through Jacques Nel in the closing stages but they were outplayed by Leinster as they completed a 21 point victory to claim the top position in Conference B while Kings' winless tournament continues.
