Saracens hooker Jamie George is included in the revised 29-man squad announced by head coach Steve Borthwick ahead of the Six Nations opener against Scotland to be played on Saturday.

George was sidelined with a concussion that he sustained while playing for his club Saracens during the game against Edinburgh on 22nd January but now has made sufficient recovery to be in contention for the Calcutta Cup game.

Borthwick has released seven players including Jack Willis, Jonny Hill, Bevan Rodd, Joe Heyes, Alex Mitchell, Cadan Murley and Guy Porter back to their clubs on Tuesday.

England defence coach Kevin Sinfield revealed that George had successfully completed the return to play protocols.

"He [George] is working through the protocols and we expect him to be available for selection," said Sinfield.

"He's thrown today, and it's a gradual build-up through the protocols, so at the minute he's on track to be available."
