Bristol Bears have announced that back Jack Bates and prop George Kloska has signed two-year contract extensions with the Gallagher Premiership club.

Bates signed professional terms with the Bears in 2019 having graduated through the club's Academy system.

The 21-year-old made his Premiership debut against Sale Sharks in August 2020 and played a starring role in England U20's 2021 Grand Slam campaign. He has made 30 senior appearances for the Bears.

Meanwhile, Kloska has been with the Academy since 13 years of age and made his club debut against Leinster ‘A’ in the 2017/18 British and Irish Cup. He has made 19 first-team appearances for Bristol.

“Both of these players are homegrown Bristolian products who have come through the Academy pathway system and broken into the senior ranks," said Bristol Bears director of rugby Pat Lam.

“We’re excited by their growth and progress and the key for them now is to continue to develop and learn from the experienced guys around them in the squad and push hard for regular opportunities in the first team.”
